Having graduated summa cum laude from South Texas College of Law–where he received the Pamela E. George Family Law Award and multiple CALI Awards– Walter Schouten is already a proven winner. He was licensed to practice law in Texas in May, 2014 and joined KoonsFuller in 2017.
“I’m flattered that KoonsFuller asked me to be a part of this remarkable team,” says Walter. “The reputation, resources, and collective knowledge of this firm are unmatched.”
While concentrating on Harris, Fort Bend, and Montgomery counties, Walter has worked on cases throughout Texas, focusing primarily on divorce and child custody litigation. “I’ve worked in family law in some capacity since 2009 and have had ample hands-on experience in and out of court since I was licensed. As such, I am more experienced than my years in practice would suggest,” Walter says.
With successes in child custody, premarital agreement, and property division cases, Walter has quickly generated an impressive track record.
“I understand how much preparation matters and how short-term tactics can impact long-term strategy,” he says. “From the first meeting, I endeavor to guide my clients through every detail of the process and prepare them to be successful in court, whether or not the case ever goes to trial. The right outcome depends on the right preparation.”
