Each year, a “Draft Day” event is held during which Cristo Rey students are selected by Work Study Program Partners to intern at companies and organizations throughout North Texas.
The 2016 event was held Friday, July 29, 2016 at Cristo Rey College Prep in Dallas, and attracted a record crowd. The exciting Draft Day 2016 included Dallas luminaries Mayor Mike Rawlings, Fox 4 Sports Anchors Mike Doocy and Edward Egros, Michael “Grubes” Gruber, music director for the Dallas Stars, and Gunnar Rawlings, Director of the Corporate Work Study Program at Cristo Rey.
“We are so pleased to partner with Cristo Rey in their Corporate Work Study Program,” said KoonsFuller Family Law’s Managing Shareholder, CEO, Ike Vanden Eykel. “The Program fits well with our firm’s belief that it’s important to support the communities we serve, especially our young people.
“We welcome Jimena Torres and Elizabeth Esparza to KoonsFuller and look forward to introducing them to the world of family law. Who knows? Maybe we’ll be welcoming them on board in a few years. We’re always looking to hire the best and the brightest in our field.”
