Overview

Jason's unique upbringing overseas has shaped him into a dynamic and empathetic individual, with a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives. His natural ability to connect with people—whether strangers or close friends—has made him a trusted and approachable presence in every community he's been a part of. Jason’s keen ability to connect with people is what makes him an asset in every situation.

During Jason’s time at SMU Dedman School of Law, he was exceptionally active in a variety of programs and associations, including reigning regionals with SMU’s ABA Negotiations Team and competing at a national level. Jason was an active leader in the Family Law Association, Association of Public Interest Law, and the Immigration Law Students Association where he served on their boards three years in a row.

Professionally, Jason has exclusively worked in the family law field. Jason served in the SMU VanSickle Family Law Clinic as a student and chief, also served as an intern for Judge Danielle Diaz in the 330th Dallas District Court and interned for renowned family law firms, including KoonsFuller since 2023. Following Jason’s tenure as a law clerk, upon bar passage Jason joined KoonsFuller as an associate attorney in 2024.

Jason carries his passion for advocacy and excellence into everything he does. The KoonsFuller team is constantly impressed with Jason’s dedication, work ethic, tenacity, and overall abilities to take on challenges that far-exceed the expectations for young associate attorneys.

In addition to continuing to thrive and grow at KoonsFuller, he is an active volunteer in the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program. Jason is fluent in Portuguese and conversational in Spanish. Outside of work, Jason enjoys taking on new adventures such as running marathons, learning new crafts, and exploring new restaurants in the DFW metroplex.
