Overview
Deron Sugg has been practicing family law for more than 20 years. Admitted to the bar in 2000, he is licensed to practice in both Texas and Missouri.
In his first decade of practicing, Deron handled cases in nearly all areas of law including civil, criminal, real estate, personal injury and juvenile, but devoted his career to family law after realizing he was most passionate about advocating for family law clients. He often describes his role as being a “Sherpa” because he takes pride in going above and beyond to ensure his clients receive the best possible result. He values communication, honesty, and makes sure his clients never lose sight of the big picture during the litigation process.
In 2012, anticipating national trends in the practice of family law, Deron completed his mediation certification at Saint Louis University and developed one of the most active mediation practices in the county where he officed, settling more than 95 percent of the cases he mediated. In 2020, he became certified in Collaborative Law.
Deron has proven success in handling complex and high-net worth divorces as he's been personally involved in dividing well over a quarter billion dollars in marital assets for his clients since arriving in Texas. More importantly, Deron believes children are the highest priority in any divorce and understands strong advocacy often means preserving and protecting parental relationships to minimize the divorce’s impact on kids as much as possible.
